Rain, Rain, Well, if You're Here to Stay. . .

If you live anywhere in the Southeast like I do, you've probably been caught up in the recent rain lately. We've had major flooding here in southwest Atlanta, and several schools, including my own, have taken "rain" days off because the roads are so bad. So, for my first post, I've decided to write about accessories for those wetter days. After all, just becuase the weather's dreary doesn't mean you have to be!

First of all, you obviously have to have an umbrella. But there are so many cute options out there, there's no excuse to have a dull, common, black one. Here are some of my favorites:

These adorable options are from umbrellas.com and, unsurprisingly, they have plenty more to choose from. Target also has some cute ones(I especially love the dome-shaped clear umbrellas, and Target has them in almost every color imaginable):

If umbrellas aren't your thing, you can always go the rain jacket route:

This one from The North Face is more exspensive, but it comes in a slew of colors, and will last you forever, especially if you live in an area where it rains alot.

Another essential is rainboots. I was in Baltimore recently, and my rainboots made things so much easier. If you live in an area where it doesn't rain hard enough for boots very often, I'd suggest buying a pair from Target again. They're a little odd to walk in, but they come in a variety of patterns/colors and are fine for occasional use(Mine are from Target.). But mostly, they're a lot less exspensive than serious wear rainboots.

But, if you do live in an area where it rains alot, I'd suggest you invest a little more in a pair that really fit and are super comfortable. You'll get your money's worth, trust me. whatapair.com is a great site that carries several brands that are pretty durable, and cute, too.
